If you’re comparing itravel with Niftrip, the answer hangs on a number itravel doesn’t publish: its monthly fee. itravel pays its mobile agents 90% with no onboarding fee. At a 10% average commission, itravel is ahead only if that fee is under $99 a month ex GST, and at 12% it needs to be lower still.
I run Niftrip, so weigh my view accordingly. Every itravel term on this page comes from itravel’s own website.
Who is each one for?
itravel is independently owned and aimed squarely at experienced people, with at least three years in the industry. Where it stands out is choice of structure. It offers five business models, from mobile agent through to running an itravel franchise store, and you can move between them as your business changes, which is a real advantage if you might want a shopfront one day.
Niftrip is one model, for experienced, tech-forward consultants and forward-thinking newcomers who want to run their own business under their own brand.
How do the fees compare?
| Niftrip | itravel mobile agent | |
|---|---|---|
| Joining fee | None | “No onboarding fees” |
| Monthly fee | $99 + GST | Not published |
| Split | You keep 100% of at-source commission | 90% commission |
| Turnover fee | 1% + GST of turnover (the total you invoice) | None published |
| Pricing | You see your commission rate and charge what you like above it | “Supplier net rates” |
| Contract and leaving | First 3 months up front, then monthly with 30 days’ notice, no restraint of trade | Contract term, notice period, client ownership and bookings in progress not published |
| What the fee covers | Platform, your own email address and support; a website is an optional add-on, priced on request | Head office and network support, training, marketing materials, a website, a 1300 number, reports, famils and incentives |
| Technology | Reads supplier confirmations sent to your inbox or pasted in, including Sabre | Choice of Galileo, Amadeus or Sabre, Tramada back office, HQ by itravel and HQ Cruise |
Ask itravel what its “Supplier net rates” mean for how you price, and whether the 90% applies to service fees.
What do you take home on each?
Say you sell $500,000 a year at a 10% average commission. On Niftrip you’d keep $43,812. On itravel you’d keep $45,000 before its monthly fee, so it comes out ahead only if that fee is under $1,188 a year, or $99 a month. Lift your average to 12% and the bar drops to $188 a year.
The tables show the most itravel could charge a year and still match Niftrip, ex GST.
At a 10% average commission:
| Sales a year | Niftrip | itravel at 90%, before its monthly fee | itravel’s fee would need to be under |
|---|---|---|---|
| $250,000 | $21,312 | $22,500 | $1,188 a year ($99 a month) |
| $500,000 | $43,812 | $45,000 | $1,188 a year ($99 a month) |
| $1,000,000 | $88,812 | $90,000 | $1,188 a year ($99 a month) |
At a 12% average commission:
| Sales a year | Niftrip | itravel at 90%, before its monthly fee | itravel’s fee would need to be under |
|---|---|---|---|
| $250,000 | $26,312 | $27,000 | $688 a year ($57 a month) |
| $500,000 | $53,812 | $54,000 | $188 a year ($15 a month) |
| $1,000,000 | $108,812 | $108,000 | Niftrip is ahead even if itravel charged nothing |
At 12%, itravel’s 10% share is 1.2% of sales against our 1%, so the bar rises as you sell more. Above about $594,000 in sales at 12%, Niftrip leaves you more even against a zero fee.
What do you get for the fee?
itravel’s mobile agent page lists support from head office and the agent network, training, a website and a 1300 phone number, famils and incentives, with Tramada and your choice of GDS.
Niftrip’s $99 + GST a month covers the platform, your own email address and support, with a website as an optional add-on priced on request. We don’t provide a 1300 number or famils. We run a program for advisors new to travel. We’ll talk you through it when we meet.
itravel’s CEO, Steve Labroski, argued at Cruise360 this year that AI’s real value for advisors is giving them their time back. I agree with him, and it’s the idea Niftrip is built on. A cruise confirmation becomes a booking and invoice in 1 minute 19 seconds, with no typing.
What happens when you leave?
itravel doesn’t publish its contract term, notice period, client ownership position or what happens to bookings in progress when you leave. Ask for the agreement before you sign.
At Niftrip you go monthly on 30 days’ notice after the first 3 months, with no restraint of trade, and your clients, contacts and domain stay yours with a full export.
Which should you choose?
In my view, itravel is the better choice if you want room to grow into a different structure, such as a franchise store or your own branded agency under the Link model, without changing networks. It’s also likely to suit you better if your average commission is under 10%, or if its monthly fee turns out to be well under $99. The members quoted on its site speak highly of its head office support, and its leadership is clearly thinking about technology.
Niftrip is the better choice if you sell at 10% or above and want to keep your full at-source commission, your own brand and a clear exit. Because we charge on turnover, every point of commission you earn above 10% stays with you, and at higher volumes that beats a 90% split even with no fee at all.
I’ve run a host agency since 2013 and I want advisors to compare networks on published numbers, so ask itravel for its monthly fee and plug it into the table above.

Where the itravel figures come from
Every itravel term on this page comes from itravel’s own website, checked on 20 October 2026. itravel’s page says “Supplier net rates” without explaining further.
About itravel
itravel started in Sydney in 1995, rebranded in 2008 and is independently owned, with 170 to 180+ advisors listed on its site. The mobile agent page asks for at least three years in the industry, and its enquiry form starts at 3 to 5 years of retail travel experience.
Its five business models run from mobile agent through to running an itravel franchise store, a Link affiliate model for agencies that want to keep their own brand, and a luxury arm, LUXE by itravel.
More on the take-home
At 10%, a 90% split costs 1% of sales, the same as our turnover fee, so it comes down to whose monthly fee is lower, and ours is $99.
At lower commission it flips. If your average is around 8% because you sell plenty of air, a 90% split costs only 0.8% of sales, and itravel would come out ahead unless its fee was over $1,188 a year plus 0.2% of your sales.
Neither of us charges a joining fee, so year one is the same as any other.
Everything itravel lists for mobile agents
itravel’s mobile agent page lists hands-on support from head office and the agent network, face-to-face and digital training with suppliers and head office, social media and branded marketing materials, a website and a 1300 phone number, performance and accounting reports, famils and incentives, and “full supplier access as well as better margins, discounted fees, and strong partnerships”.
itravel’s technology
itravel gives you a choice of CRS (Galileo, Amadeus or Sabre), Tramada as a web-based back office, an intranet, its own booking platforms HQ by itravel and HQ Cruise, and email tools. If you want a GDS and Tramada environment you already know, itravel gives you that. If you want to stop rekeying confirmations, that’s where Niftrip is different.
How Niftrip works
Niftrip reads supplier confirmations sent to your Niftrip inbox or pasted in, any text including Sabre, and turns them into a booking and invoice with no typing: 1 minute 19 seconds for a cruise, about 2 minutes for a flight and hotel. It does costings with GST, invoices and receipts, and shows expected earnings on every booking. Clients get a branded itinerary with quote options and a compare-trips view, a client portal, and documents behind a 6-digit email code, all carrying your business name and your own email address.
At Niftrip you pay the first 3 months ($297 + GST) up front, then go monthly on 30 days’ notice with no restraint of trade. Your clients, contacts and domain stay yours, with a full export. Bookings in progress stay with the agency until travelled, and you keep servicing them for the commission, with no monthly fee during that run-off. If you open your own agency later, you can keep using the Niftrip platform on a subscription.
