If cost is what you’re comparing, Global Travel Network has one of the lowest-priced published 90% splits in Australia, at $200 + GST a month, and Niftrip still leaves you $1,212 a year more at a 10% average commission, and more again at 12%. Global Travel Network is the better pick if your commission averages below 10%, or if you want a GDS of your own and a Perth team you can meet.
I run Niftrip, so take my view with that in mind. Every Global Travel Network fee here comes from its own join page.
Who is each one for?
Global Travel Network is a Perth host run by its owner and director, Kate McIvor, with consultants around Australia. It’s built for people who already know how to sell and ticket, and who want low fixed costs and a personal GDS set-up without the overheads of a big network.
Niftrip suits experienced, tech-forward consultants who want to keep 100% of their at-source commission and cut their admin with modern tools, and forward-thinking newcomers too.
How do the fees compare?
| Niftrip | Global Travel Network | |
|---|---|---|
| Joining fee | None | $200 + GST |
| Monthly fee | $99 + GST | Package 1 $200 + GST; Package 2 $150 + GST |
| Split | You keep 100% of at-source commission | 90% (Package 1) or 85% (Package 2) |
| Turnover fee | 1% + GST of turnover (the total you invoice) | None |
| Back-up consultant for leave | Not included | Available, “% fees apply” |
| Contract and leaving | First 3 months up front, then monthly with 30 days’ notice, no restraint of trade | Contract and notice not published |
| What the fee covers | Platform, your own email address and support; a website is an optional add-on, priced on request | Personal PCC with your choice of GDS, Virtual Travel Office, email address, accreditation, professional indemnity, training and head office receipting |
| Technology | Reads supplier confirmations sent to your inbox or pasted in, including Sabre | Cloud-based invoicing that imports PNRs from Amadeus, Galileo and Sabre |
| Your clients | Clients, contacts and domain stay yours, with a full export | “Your client base is yours, always was, always will be” |
Global Travel Network sums up its pricing as “That’s it!”, and I like that. In year one, add its $200 + GST joining fee. Niftrip has none.
What do you take home on each?
Say you sell $500,000 a year at a 12% average commission. On Niftrip you’d keep $53,812. On Package 1 you’d keep $51,600, which is $2,212 less, and on Package 2 $49,200, or $4,612 less.
At 10%, Package 1’s 90% split costs 1% of your sales, the same as our turnover fee. That leaves only the monthly fees, $2,400 a year against our $1,188, so the gap stays at $1,212 whatever you sell. At 12% our fee is cheaper per dollar and the gap grows with your sales.
A year’s at-source commission after the split and monthly fees, ex GST. Joining fees left out.
At a 10% average commission, Niftrip keeps more than GTN Package 1 90% at any level of sales, by $1,212 a year.
At a 10% average commission, Niftrip keeps more than GTN Package 2 85% at any level of sales.
The same figures as tables, at a 10% and 12% average commission
At a 10% average commission:
| Sales a year | Niftrip | GTN Package 1 (90%, $200/mo) | Against Niftrip | GTN Package 2 (85%, $150/mo) | Against Niftrip |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| $250,000 | $21,312 | $20,100 | −$1,212 | $19,450 | −$1,862 |
| $500,000 | $43,812 | $42,600 | −$1,212 | $40,700 | −$3,112 |
| $1,000,000 | $88,812 | $87,600 | −$1,212 | $83,200 | −$5,612 |
At a 12% average commission:
| Sales a year | Niftrip | GTN Package 1 | Against Niftrip | GTN Package 2 | Against Niftrip |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| $250,000 | $26,312 | $24,600 | −$1,712 | $23,700 | −$2,612 |
| $500,000 | $53,812 | $51,600 | −$2,212 | $49,200 | −$4,612 |
| $1,000,000 | $108,812 | $105,600 | −$3,212 | $100,200 | −$8,612 |
When does Global Travel Network come out ahead?
When your average commission is below 10%. At 8%, Package 1’s 10% share costs only 0.8% of your sales against our 1%. Once you sell more than about $606,000 a year at 8%, Package 1 leaves you more than Niftrip, and the lead grows from there. If your book is air-heavy, run the numbers at your real average rate before you decide.
What do you get for the fee?
Global Travel Network’s list is long for the price, including a personal PCC with your choice of GDS, invoicing that imports PNRs from Amadeus, Galileo and Sabre, accreditation, professional indemnity insurance, face-to-face training, monthly catch-ups (in Perth, or virtual from interstate) and head office receipting.
Niftrip’s $99 + GST a month covers the platform, your own email address and support, with a website as an optional add-on priced on request. A GDS and a back-up consultant aren’t included. We run a program for advisors new to travel. We’ll talk you through it when we meet.
If you live in a GDS all day, Global Travel Network’s set-up suits you. If most of your work is cruise, tours and packages confirmed by email, Niftrip removes most of the keying.
What happens when you leave?
Global Travel Network says “Your client base is yours, always was, always will be.” It doesn’t publish its contract term, notice period or what happens to bookings in progress, so ask for the agreement.
At Niftrip you go monthly on 30 days’ notice after the first 3 months, with no restraint of trade, and your clients, contacts and domain stay yours with a full export.
Which should you choose?
In my view, Global Travel Network is the better choice if your average commission sits below 10%, if you want your own PCC and GDS, or if you’re in Perth and value monthly catch-ups in person. It publishes clear, low fees, and that deserves credit in a market where most networks publish nothing.
Niftrip is the better choice if you sell at 10% or more, want your own brand and email address on everything, and want to spend less time keying bookings. If you sell at 15% or 20%, or build your own packages, every extra point of commission stays with you.
I’ve been in travel since 2004, have run a host agency since 2013, and priced Niftrip so advisors who earn more keep more.

Where the Global Travel Network figures come from
Every Global Travel Network fee here comes from its own join page, checked on 20 October 2026. The only extra it mentions is a percentage fee for a back-up consultant when you’re away, and it doesn’t say what that percentage is.
In its own words
Global Travel Network’s join page says it “exists to make the Travel Industry easy, flexible and profitable for experienced consultants to run their own businesses”.
How the take-home is worked out
These are yearly take-home figures, ex GST, before the joining fee. Niftrip is sales × rate − 1% of sales − $1,188, and Global Travel Network is split × sales × rate − monthly fee × 12. The Against Niftrip columns show each package minus Niftrip, so −$1,212 means Niftrip leaves you $1,212 more.
Package 2 takes 15%, which is 1.5% of sales at 10% commission, so it falls further behind as you grow.
Everything Global Travel Network includes
Its list includes up to 90% commission, a personal PCC with your choice of GDS, a cloud-based Virtual Travel Office branch for invoicing, a Global Travel Network email address, AFTA, ATAS and IATA (TIDS) accreditation, professional indemnity insurance and a personal page on its website. You also get face-to-face training on its invoicing and ticketing systems, video tutorials, monthly catch-ups with consultants and suppliers (in Perth, or virtual from interstate), head office receipting and payments Monday to Friday, an online card payment portal, 24/7 access to view the client bank account, 24/7 access to ticketing and booking systems, social media tiles and posts, and incentives, educationals and events through its affiliation with My Travel Group.
The email address differs too. Global Travel Network gives you one on its domain, and Niftrip gives you your own.
Global Travel Network’s technology
Global Travel Network’s systems are cloud-based. Its invoicing system imports PNRs from Amadeus, Galileo and Sabre, plus Calypsonet and TAAP, so you can keep the GDS you know.
How Niftrip works
Niftrip reads supplier confirmations sent to your Niftrip inbox or pasted in, any text including Sabre, and turns them into a booking and invoice with no typing: 1 minute 19 seconds for a cruise, about 2 minutes for a flight and hotel. It produces costings with GST, invoices and receipts, and shows expected earnings on every booking. Clients get a branded itinerary with quote options and a compare-trips view, a client portal, and documents behind a 6-digit email code, all under your business name.
At Niftrip you pay the first 3 months ($297 + GST) up front, then go monthly on 30 days’ notice with no restraint of trade. Your clients, contacts and domain stay yours, with a full export. Bookings in progress stay with the agency until travelled, and you keep servicing them for the commission, with no monthly fee during that run-off. If you open your own agency later, you can keep using the Niftrip platform on a subscription.
